Selective Laser Melting is a fabrication process which can be used to create products that are difficult to make with other machines. It is also called 3D printing with metal. The technology of SLM is not developed far enough to get products directly at the desired tolerances. Therefore products are post-processed. This will be done by clamping, scanning, milling and polishing the products. These techniques have been developed enough for these operations, however, have never been put together in one post-processing line. 3D&FPP is an international project where seven companies and institutes work together to realise this post-processing line.
